Jarrah Forest Lodge
Categories: Accommodation, Trails, Arts & Crafts
The Jarrah Forest Lodge (JFL) was originally established for forestry cadets back in 1952. It is a part of the Forest Discovery Centre and offers great value backpacker style accommodation for individuals or groups. It can sleep up to 52 people in 16 twin share rooms and four family rooms. There is a large well equipped kitchen with a spacious dining room with wood fire for chilly winter nights. Enjoy a movie night or table tennis tournament in the entertainment area or an outdoor meal in the gazebo with barbeque and wood fired pizza oven. There is also a volleyball court and exercise area.
It is a short walk from the Forest Discovery Centre which makes it an ideal location for people taking weekend workshops at the Centre or looking for places to entertain the kids. The JFL is a great stopover on the Bibbulmun track or the Munda Biddi bike trail, both of which pass through Dwellingup. It is perfect for groups who want a comfortable but affordable location for crafts, hobby, yoga, or family retreats. We have a conference room with a wood fire, and small kitchenette that can be hired together with our accommodation or separately for functions / PD activities. The Jarrah Forest Lodge is a leisurely 10 minute walk from the town centre and Hotham Valley railway.
